The Catalyst Ensemble is a diverse group of boundary-pushing musicians aiming to bring together the worlds of classical and jazz. Created by Toronto bassist and composer Jesse Dietschi, the ensemble blends the subtlety and structure of contemporary chamber music with the energy and spontaneity of modern jazz. Featuring performers from the orchestras of the Toronto Symphony and Canadian Opera Company, alongside both emerging and established jazz performers, the Catalyst Ensemble performs unique compositions and arrangements that are as varied as the musicians playing them.
